SILENT AUCTION
What’s a fundraising event without a silent auction? I asked my good friend Rochelle to help me—she’s organized quite a few for different charities over the years. I knew she was the expert. She agreed, and together we were off!! My first stop was Zorganics Salon where the owner put together a men’s care package! Rochelle and I made lots of phone calls and drove all over Whatcom & Skagit counties to collect donations. One of the most exciting were Cruisin Coffee—the owner was just SO friendly and we thought it serendipitous that we were both celebrating “30” When I stopped by to pick up the beautiful basket she had put together she included a cash donation also!
The Hemplers Basket was Beyond anything I had ever seen! I call it the Carnivore Special—it was valued at over $300! Plus they donated hot dogs for the BBQ! A friend of a friend had a cabin in Winthrop that she donated for a weekend getaway. Willowbrook Manor in Sedro Woolley put together a beautiful basket. Papa John’s on Lakeway was SO positive and helpful with their generous donation! Skagit Speedway donated tickets, and we used those as prizes for the winning teams. Costco & Safeway donated gift cards that we used for the BBQ. Many restaurants donated gift cards. Volli donated pickleball cards. Ink Drop donated tattoo time! VanWingerden Gardens donated beautiful flowers that we used for table decorations and then auctioned off. It was just incredible to have so many businesses step up and say YES!!
The auction brought in just over $2700!!
